The Counseling Department Mission Statement

Our mission as Counselors at Youth ChalleNGe Academy-FG is to provide a comprehensive program that attends to the personal/social, and career preparation/college planning needs of all cadets. The primary goal of the Counseling Department is to provide opportunities for cadets to clarify values and goals, to make decisions, to develop self-confidence, self-direction and self-esteem, aiding cadets in becoming responsible, culturally aware and productive members of society.

During the first two weeks your candidate will not be allowed to make phone calls. We encourage you to write your cadet daily.

You may email your cadet daily through his/her counselor. In the subject line be sure to include your cadet's name and platoon number. We will deliver emails daily to your cadet. Assist us by encouraging your cadet daily in a positive way. They absolutely love receiving daily letters.

SAT & ACT Important Information

The SAT test will be given on June 2, 2018. The fee for this test is $46.00 for the regular test and $60.00 if your cadet takes the SAT with the essay. The deadline to register for this test is May 3, 2018. Registration fees submitted after this date will be subject to a late registration fee.

YCA does not accept payments.

You must register your cadet online at https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat/register When completing the registration, please select Youth Challenge Academy as your cadet's current school and test center. You may use the school code (CEEB) 111329 and the school's test center code 11231. Please be sure to register your cadet for the SAT Reasoning test and not the subject tests.

The ACT will be given on June 9, 2018. The fee for this test is $46.00 for the regular test and $62.50 if your cadet takes the ACT with the essay. The deadline to register for this test is May 4, 2018. Registration fees received after this date will be subject to a late registration fee. .

YCA does not accept payments.

Registration for the ACT can be done online at www.act.org with a credit or debit card. Using this method, you will be required to submit the school (CEEB) code of 111329, and the test center code 214940.

Once your cadet is registered for the either test, please email me either the admission ticket, or the username and password so that the ticket can be printed for admission to the test.

We are looking forward to preparing your cadet for the brightest future possible.The testing for the SAT and the ACT will be conducted on the campus at YCA. If you would like your cadet to test and cannot afford the fee, please contact me before the deadline.

If you have any questions, please contact me before the deadline. Also, feel free to provide your cadet with any study books that you see fit. We cannot provide additional SAT or ACT study assistance.
